Scope of Services

The Lamp Post Studio provides a range of services that fall within the domains of counselling, chaplaincy and creative arts, The Lamp Post Studio should not be expected to operate or advise outside of these professional areas of expertise.


To be eligible to use our services, clients must be 18 years of age or above, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian. Potential clients of any age must disclose any criminal history relevant to the negative treatment of others, prior to interacting with our services.

Fees and Payment

Full payment is due at the time of service, you may also be asked to pay at the time of booking to hold your appointment.

Bundle offers may be paid for session by session. However, if a bundle offer has been entered into and the client fails to make an acceptable effort to book the specified number of appointments within the specified timeframe, the client will be invoiced the outstanding amount.

Missed and Late Appointments

If a client misses an appointment without any notification they will be charged at 50% of the full fee. If a client is late for an appointment the full appointment fee will still be charged and the time missed will not be reallocated.

If a client chooses a bundle option but does not use the services within the allocated time the client will be billed the difference for services used. However, if the client feels this was in some way due to the provider not being available, or the impact of events outside of the client’s control, they may negotiate an extension of time for their use of the bundle offer.

Cancellation of Appointments

If for some reason the client needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, they must allow a minimum of 48 business hours notice (prior to 9.00 am at least two business days before your appointment) otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% of the service fee will be incurred.

Missed or Discontinued Sessions for Groups or Courses

If a client misses sessions or discontinues sessions in a course or group, they will still be charged the full cost of the group/course. No refunds will be made for groups or courses except in exceptional circumstances by negotiation.


The Lamp Post Studio are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of clients’ personal and therapeutic information.

It is good-practice for wellbeing practitioners to discuss client information with their colleagues and supervisors, these individuals are also required to keep client information confidential. By using our services clients are agreeing to the sharing of information for professional purposes as outlined above unless otherwise negotiated.

Other than for professional reasons, we will not disclose client information without direct permission from the client, unless required by law, or if the client is at risk of harm, or at risk of harming others.

Where appropriate, we may ask clients’ permission to discuss their information with other professionals who have, are currently, or will be, working with them. This would be done with the purpose of providing an effective multi-disciplinary approach.

Appropriate Conduct

By using our services all clients agree to conduct themselves in a respectful and law-abiding manner, to utilise the property of The Lamp Post Studio respectfully, to respond respectfully to instructions, to show kindness and consideration to others, and in no way degrade or belittle others.

By accessing our services the client also agrees to make restitution for any harm caused to The Lamp Post Studio’s property, service providers and/or other clients, if a breach of our Appropriate Conduct terms were to occur.

Termination of Services

Clients are free to terminate our services at any time. The Lamp Post Studio reserves the right to terminate services if we determine that our services are not appropriate for the needs of the client, or if the client fails to follow our terms and conditions or appropriate conduct recommendations.


Our services are not a substitute for medical treatment and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition. We make no guarantees or warranties about the effectiveness of our services.

Changes to Terms of Service

The Lamp Post Studio reserves the right to update our Terms of Service at any time. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws in Victoria, Australia, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these Terms of Service and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our services.
