The Artist's Way

Description: This course centers on the book The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, by Julia Cameron, and encourages participants personal and creative development through readings, tools, activities, and discussions.

Prerequisites: Participants must have an openness to self-discovery and be committed to personal and creative development, though need not be currently engaged in creative pursuits. This course is particularly well suited for anyone who may feel creatively 'blocked', or who would love to see their creative ideas find greater 'lift off'. This course is suitable for participants from a wide range of spiritual, religious and non-religious backgrounds.

Format: The Artists Way course will be conducted in the format of a small group (2 - 4 participants plus the facilitator).

Duration: 12 weeks
Dates: To be determined
Time Commitment: 2 contact hours/week, and a minimum of 2 non-contact hours/week

Deep Listening Group

Description: Deep listening groups are a practice derived from the Quaker tradition and center around the restorative and transformative power of listening deeply. The true value of this simple practice unfolds as participants intentionally bare witness to the story of their own life and the life of another as they unfold.

Prerequisites: Participants must have an openness to others and to self-discovery, and be committed to personal development, confidentiality and being a 'safe person' for others to share their life and story with.

Format: Listening groups are conducted in the format of a very small group (2 participants plus the facilitator).

Duration: 6 weeks
Dates: Applicable as groups form
Time Commitment: 2 contact hours/week, 0 non-contact hours/week

RETREATS

Home Coming Retreat

Description: A day of rest, reflection and inner-work, centered around the spiritual concept of coming home; to creator, creation, self, and community. This retreat draws on two ancient homecoming stories; 'The Prodigal Son' and 'The Seal Maiden' and invites participants to "come home" in a deep spiritual sense.

Prerequisites: Participants must be willing to reflect respectfully on their own lives and the lives of others, and have an openness to Christian Spirituality. Participants do not need to identify as 'Christian' to engage deeply with this retreat.

Format: Medium size group (5 - 10 participants)
